Dialogue — two who have
each other in mind.
Two figures on a plinth, on a bench, on a bridge. What lies between them is the actual work.
“His aim is not simply to carve or forge them, but to tell the story of one or more situations.”
In the Dialogue series this situation lies between two figures. Sometimes they reach their gilded hands to one another across a bridge, sometimes they sit blindfolded on separate brackets, sometimes one wears headphones while the other speaks. The figures stay small and anonymous — the gesture carries the story.
Marco Forni has written about this series: “me and you: we”

Works in the series
What is the “Dialogue” series?
It is a group of works by Roland Perathoner in which two figures are always related to one another: they reach out their hands, turn towards or away from each other, listen to one another or straight past one another. The work is carried not by the single figure but by the distance and the gesture between the two.
What are the works in the series made of?
They are made of Swiss stone pine, lime or walnut, often polychromed and heightened with gold leaf in places — on the hands that touch, for example. Several works in the series also exist as bronze casts.
A counterpart for your space?
Works in this series are also made to commission — in wood, polychromed or cast in bronze, made to your dimensions and conceived for your setting.
